Ihren Ursprung hat die FGWM in den N\u00e4hfabriken der Industriegebiete von Myanmar. Der Gro\u00dfteil der Sekret\u00e4r*innen musste mittlerweile vor Verfolgung durch die Milit\u00e4rjunta fliehen und agiert aus dem Untergrund im Exil.<br>Trotz der Milit\u00e4rdiktatur arbeiten sie weiter. Die FGWM unterst\u00fctzt Arbeiter*innen dabei sich zu organisieren, begleitet Arbeitsk\u00e4mpfe (wie neulich bei <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iclcit.org\/support-of-strike-at-garment-factory-sun-apparel-in-myanmar\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Sun Apparel<\/em><\/a>), die unter gro\u00dfer Gefahr weiterhin stattfinden und versucht au\u00dferdem von Repression betroffene Mitglieder bei ihrer Flucht und im Gef\u00e4ngnis nicht alleine zu lassen. Ein weiterer Schwerpunkt ist die Organisierung von Bildungsm\u00f6glichkeiten f\u00fcr Fabrikarbeiter*innen zu Themen wie Organizing und Arbeitsk\u00e4mpfen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Das Ganze ist ohne externen Support nicht aufrecht zu erhalten. Die Einnahmen durch Mitgliedsbeitr\u00e4ge sind durch die \u00e4u\u00dferst prek\u00e4ren Zust\u00e4nde nach dem Putsch des Milit\u00e4rs weggebrochen. Zu ihren internationalen Freund*innen geh\u00f6ren die <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iclcit.org\/tag\/asia\/\" target=\"_blank\">Arbeitsgruppe Asien der ICL<\/a><\/em> (Internationale Konf\u00f6deration der Arbeiter*innen) sowie das <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Solidarity_Center\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Solidarity Center<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wer&nbsp;steckt&nbsp;hinter&nbsp;dem&nbsp;Fundraising?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Initiiert wurde es von der FAU Hamburg zusammen mit der FGWM. Durchgef\u00fchrt wird es mittlerweile auch von Genoss*innen anderer FAU Syndikate, der IWW WISE-RA und Earth Strike UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Toll!&nbsp;Was&nbsp;kann&nbsp;ich&nbsp;tun?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">Zun\u00e4chst w\u00e4re es super, wenn ihr ebenfalls etwas in den Hut werft. It is one of the very few labour federations known to us in Asia, which follows a grassroots approach. The FGWM has its roots in the textile factories of the industrial zones in Myanmar. The secretaries had to flee to escape prosecution by the military junta and now operate from a house in exile. Some members of FAU Hamburg met them last year. They emphasized how some of them only managed to escape with the support provided by the previous fundraising done last year.<br>Despite the military dictatorship they continue with their efforts. The FGWM supports workers to get organised, follows labour fights (like the recent strike at <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iclcit.org\/support-of-strike-at-garment-factory-sun-apparel-in-myanmar\/\" target=\"_blank\">Sun Apparel<\/a>), which still take place under great danger, and also tries to support members facing state repression, for example seeking refuge or supporting them in prison as far as this is possible. Another focal point is to provide training opportunities for factory workers in regards to organising and labour struggles. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">All of this can&#8217;t be upheld without external support. Due to the extremely precarious living conditions, which evolved especially after the military coup in February 2021, the income based on membership fees collapsed. Their supportive partners on the international level are the <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.iclcit.org\/tag\/asia\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>ICL Working Group Asia<\/em><\/a> as well as the <em><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Solidarity_Center\" target=\"_blank\">Solidarity Center<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is behind the fundraising?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">It was initiated by the Free Workers&#8216; Union (FAU) Hamburg together with the FGWM. And by now it is also being supported and conducted by comrades of other FAU syndicates, the IWW WISE-RA as well as Earth Strike UK.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Great! What can I do?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"font-size:17px\">First of all, it would be great, if you consider to support the work of FGWM by simply contributing to the fundraising.
